A Vision Gives the Drive

Do you have a vision? Creating your vision can be very challenging. We do not always take the time to think of the end first. And that is what a vision is – a picture of what our efforts will achieve in the end.

Every man must have:  a. Personal vision , b. Family vision , c. Ministry or career vision.

Every man must have a purpose and a vision in life. A great vision is usually given to those who have the wider scope and having the wider scope is a choice. Having a great vision has nothing to being better than others or being the most talented; instead all of those who have been given great visions have at least one thing in common and that is their vision is fuelled in the thoughts of bringing solutions to others. We are all capable and must contribute in one way or the other.

Proverbs 29:18

Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he. (KJV)

“A vision is a glimpse of the end, a view of your purpose in life.” (Myles Munroe) Every person should have a sense of what God is doing in and through his/her life. Men must also have a vision of what God wants to do in their lives.

Vision is a picture of the future that creates passion within you today” (The Law of Compass – 17 Laws of Team work)

“Vision is an internal picture, not of what exists, but what will be in the future.” Wilkinson.

Without it there is no direction in a life. Vision and goals are often used interchangeably and are closely related. We can talk of vision being the end result and goals being the steps that will take us to the vision.

A vision written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your vision come true.

Your personal vision guides your life and provides the direction necessary to chart the course of your days and the choices you make about your career. Your personal vision statement is the light shining in the darkness toward which you turn to find your way. It illuminates your way. It can also change over time, depending upon what is happening in your life. You will be amazed, however, at how many components remain consistent over time.

Your personal vision is a clear vision of the life you want to lead.  A personal vision is not just important for goal setting; it is also vitally important for personal productivity. Just like setting goals; anybody can be busy and get a lot done. However, unless you are busy with activities that will help you realize your personal vision; you are simply being a busy fool.

Your personal vision is a vision of how your life will be once you have created the life that you truly desire.

It is amazing how opportunities, people and abundance begin to come into your life when you identify what your purpose is with a clear vision. I have created my own life vision which continues to pull me forward and guide my activities. It is a very powerful feeling to know exactly where you are headed.

One of the main secrets to being successful is to take the time to think through what is important to you. Being clear about what motivates you, and knowing your values, allows you to make the right choices in life supporting your clear vision. If you do not know where you are headed in life, there is no way you can make a success of it, let alone guiding others to do well.

I believe all of your life experiences, good and bad, help to define who you are. Taking the time to establish your personal vision is critical. Start where you are now with a clear vision and refine it over time.

Vision hence gives you the force behind all that you want to achieve in life. You cannot sit and expect results without having a vision. It gives the purpose in life. Every man must have a vision.
